I am sharing another blogger’s post (by Jill Dennison) because it contains what I consider to be an extremely important read regarding wealth in the US, and it really must be shared! As a country, we have been arguing for decades about whether taxes need to be raised or lowered on the ultra wealthy. Thom Hartmann has written such a compelling article about this argument (which Jill has inserted into her blog post), and he articulates how the US has changed as a result!
Please take a few moments to read what he has laid out so clearly! It’s an important read for our times – and particularly, for where we want to go as a country, and who can take us there! Thank you Jill for pointing out the article!
Hi, Anita. Jill is so prolific that I don’t see all of her posts. I agree with her and you: this is an important overview—and I think it’s actually quite succinct considering the breadth of the topic.
It never ceases to amaze me that Americans, broadly, consider Republicans better stewards of the economy, when the data support the opposite view.
It will be wonderful if we pull off a Democratic trifecta with substantial popular vote in addition to the EC.
Maybe we can then build on the Biden/Harris achievements to continue reversing the nation’s dreadful wealth disparities.
Thanks for reblogging this valuable piece. I must note, though, that I thought at first you’d written something on the topic and had really looked forward to perusing your views!
Cheers!

Thank you so much for your message, Annie! And I am sorry I don’t post more of my own stuff! Ha! Can you believe I started a blog post a week ago, and never finished it! That’s how bad I am! I have great ideas in the shower…but by the time I reach my computer, they are gone! Anyway, I felt Thom Hartmann’s article was so important, and needed to be shared. I have believed all of this about the economy and the damage being done to democracy since the 80’s, but could never have articulated it as well as he did! I promise, though, that I will attempt to blog more! Thank you for your encouragement, Annie, and, of course, your blog is always so inspirational! I am visualizing that Democratic trifecta you mentioned, because I think it is highly possible, and I can’t even imagine the alternative! We won’t go back! ❤️

Ha ha … that happens to me ALL the time … I have a great idea in the shower, but by the time I get to the computer, I just can’t seem to put it together!

Jill, I don’t know how you even have time to shower—with all the ideas that find their way—fully and well-formed—onto your post! I marvel!💐

Awwww … thank you so much, dear Annie!!! I have to find time to shower, else the girls would throw me out and I’d be homeless, but I’ve largely given up sleep! But thank you for your kind and encouraging words! You’ve made me smile! 😊

No need to apologize; life is filled with distractions. But from what I’ve seen, you have a distinctive voice and the valuable ability to take the long view, so I hope you keep at it. Maybe you can keep pen and paper or even a small recorder—next to your towel!
Thank you for your kind words. The winning chant has, I believe, taken hold: “We’re NOT going back!” Brilliant simple message!
Cheers!
