As Christmas 2025 approaches and as 2026 begins to peek around the corner, I want to wish everyone much love, peace and joy in your lives now, and into the future!
So many of us around the world have experienced a very challenging and transformative year in 2025. Though overwhelming, we can still easily remember the many difficult and heartbreaking events that we have experienced and witnessed in both our own lives and in the lives of others. Those of us who care deeply about the suffering of others and all living things, are feeling great sorrow near the end of this year for what could be and for what should be…..
And so, I would like to ask you to consider doing one thing tomorrow (or anytime between now and the end of this year): please take a few moments, if you can, to escape into some peace and quiet and inner stillness within yourself. While there, reflect back onto 2025, and remember the GOOD that you also witnessed and experienced in this chaotic year (because this, too, is deeply important!)….the people who lifted you up, and the people YOU lifted up! And then take some additional time to consider what is truly important moving forward! And, realizing that there are so many others in solidarity with you who are also wishing for something better and truer and more meaningful to become reality, create an uplifting image within you of what is needed, and then send it with love out into 2026!
I believe that 2025 has revealed to us collectively and individually, what deeply needs to be given our honest and focused attention! It has revealed what has been buried, what has been hidden, and what needs to be healed – some of which has been suppressed for a very long time! When things come to the surface, they can seem awful in the moment….but it is only in bringing to the surface what needs to be seen, that healing can truly begin! 2025 has shown us that there is A LOT to be seen and healed – personally and collectively! Our mission is being revealed to us! Every one of us on the planet is here right now to witness what is broken, to heal ourselves, and to support others in their own healing. We are here to make a difference, and that difference begins first with our thoughts, which then manifest outward into the world as action! Collectively, we are quite powerful! Let us all commit to being the change that we are seeking! And we can begin this process first, by sending out to 2026 our greatest intentions of love and support for one another!
I am so thankful to my blogging family, friends and followers whose posts and comments have sustained me, informed me, and inspired me throughout this difficult year we have witnessed and have walked through together! You are important, you make a difference, and you matter more than you know!
Wishing you Happy Holidays in whatever way you enjoy or celebrate them, and I will see you in the New Year!
All the best to, Anita. Wishing you a happy Christmas and a meaningful 2026, sent with a warm hug!

I think most people are caring and friendly, at least in ordinary life. I think every day I talk to at least one stranger and people smile as we pass in the street. People of all ages and all backgrounds get on fine if no one is stirring up hatred. If leaders and anyone with too much power could take a lesson from Everyman.

I completely agree with you, Janet! It’s been my experience, as well, that most people are friendly and good-hearted! And I very much agree that much of the political division and hatred towards others is a result of intentional manipulation and manufactured outrage! Stirring up hatred is profitable for some, and gives others a sense of power. Without that, I think the world would be quite different. I think the vast majority of people want peace in the world, and peace with their neighbors and family. Thanks so much for your kind comments! I hope the holidays have been good to you, and I am wishing you and your family all the best in 2026!

I thank you for this essay, Anita, which glides effortlessly through our challenges, worries, and gratitude and aspirations. You do this so well, and I’m right there with you. All the best for a better year for us individually and collectively. The kindness and generosity must start with us.

Awww……thanks so much, Annie! You are too kind!! (smile) One day soon, we will all look back at this period we have experienced together, and think to ourselves “Wow! We did it! We saved our democracy at a very critical and dangerous moment in our history!” What we are currently going through is unsustainable, but what we will replace it with will be amazing! Can’t wait to see what 2026 is preparing for us (the Year of the Fire Horse in the Chinese Zodiac – the last time it cycled through was in 1966 – what were we all doing then??? I was 7 years old and living in Bermuda – which is where I wish I was right now! Ha!)! Wishing you the best in 2026, my friend!

Anita, thanks so much for encouraging us to look between the headlines for the good things that happened this year. And often that may be on a personal level. As for me, I’m celebrating that my youngest sister finally got a kidney transplant. She’d been waiting for years – and it finally happened! I’m overjoyed. Wishing you a very Happy New Year. ~Terri

That is such wonderful news, Terri!!! I am thrilled for you and overjoyed for your sister!! What a gift after such a long (and no doubt, very worrying) wait! The New Year is already bringing amazing news – perhaps a sign of many miracles to come! Wishing you and James, your sister, and all family and friends, a very Happy New Year (and very Happy Birthday to you!!)!!

Anita, I decided to revisit this post and am so glad I did. I think the first time through I was too distracted to understand what a timely and caring post it is. Just fabulous.

Thank you so much, Michael, for your very sweet comments! I am touched that you not only read my post the first time, but also came back to read it again! That means a great deal!! I know that we share the same sentiments – witnessing the peacefulness that can exist in nature and the world, while also being saddened by the cruelty we are witnessing around us….and believing we (humanity) can do better! Thanks so much for following my blog, and again for your kind comments!
